Meprolight Launches MVO™ Optics Line for Defense Market, Providing Mission-Critical Precision for Armed Forces

Introduction of the Meprolight® Variable Optic (MVO™) Family

During the recent Defense & Security Thailand expo, Meprolight, a subsidiary of SK Group and a prominent player in the field of electro-optics, unveiled their new line designed for the defense sector: the Meprolight® Variable Optic (MVO™) family. These professional riflescopes promise outstanding precision, clarity, and robust reliability suitable for diverse tactical and professional shooting applications.

Advanced Models for Specialized Engagements

The MVO™ lineup features three advanced optical systems, each tailored to specific operational needs:

  • MVO 1-8×28: This low-power variable optic (LPVO) is engineered for dynamic short-to-medium range engagements, facilitating rapid target acquisition in fluid operational environments.

  • MVO 3-18×44: A versatile mid-power scope (MPVO), this model is optimized for both tactical and competitive scenarios, providing flexibility and adaptability in various settings.

  • MVO 6-36×56: Designed as a high-power solution (HPVO), this riflescope excels in long-range precision shooting, enabling accurate engagements at extended distances.

All models adhere to rigorous military specifications, featuring a robust 34 mm main tube. These riflescopes are fully waterproof and fog-proof, capable of enduring submersion for up to 30 minutes at depths of one meter. Furthermore, the MVO™ family is constructed to function effectively in extreme temperature ranges from -40°C to +70°C, and is subjected to testing that simulates the recoil of high-caliber firearms, ensuring dependability under demanding conditions.

Optical Excellence and User-Centric Features

Utilizing premium SCHOTT multi-coated glass, Meprolight’s MVO™ family offers remarkable light transmittance exceeding 92%, resulting in superior image clarity and contrast, even in low-light, glare, and mirage situations. The optical systems are meticulously engineered, employing advanced simulation techniques alongside precision lens design to guarantee:

  • Consistent eye relief
  • A forgiving eye box
  • A broad field of view, enhancing situational awareness during operations

Key Features Include:

  • Multi-color reticle illumination (red and green) with eight adjustable brightness settings
  • Compatibility with night vision goggles (NVG)
  • A 12-hour automatic shutoff feature
  • A smooth magnification ring that supports an optional throw lever
  • Verified windage and elevation adjustments, confirmed through live-fire testing and collimator calibration

Commitment to Operational Effectiveness

Golan Kalimi, Senior Vice President of Meprolight, emphasized the importance of clarity, reliability, and rapid engagement in today’s operational milieu. He stated, “The MVO™ family is constructed to empower users to function optimally in any environment, under any circumstances, with optics that guarantee precision and unyielding durability. From close-quarters engagements to long-range missions, the MVO™ ensures no detail is overlooked and no shot is jeopardized.”

A Proven Legacy

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of SK Group, Meprolight is an Israeli firm recognized globally for pioneering developments in electro-optical and optical sights, thermal imaging, and self-illuminated systems that augment operational effectiveness.
