Poland Advances Wisła Programme with Mobile Communications Centres

Contract Overview

The Polish Armaments Agency (Agencja Uzbrojeni) has formalized a contract valued at PLN 2.09 billion (approximately USD 572.14 million) with Military Communications Works No 1 (WZŁ1). This agreement encompasses the procurement of 56 mobile communications centres (MCCs) as part of the second phase of the Wisła air defense initiative. The announcement was made public on September 24.

According to the Polish Ministry of Defence, the MCCs are integral to the communications framework supporting the multilayer air defense architecture established under the Wisła programme. These mobile units are anticipated to enter service between 2027 and 2030. The contract not only covers the delivery of the MCCs but also includes essential logistics and training components.

The MCCs are designed on the robust Jelcz P112.57 five-axle chassis and feature:

  • Provides robust communication capabilities across various bands.

• Broadband IP Radio (R-450C-01):

  • Functionality: Facilitates voice calls, video conferencing, and internet services.
  • Management: Operable via web interfaces, console, or desktop platforms.
  • Frequency Range: 225–400 MHz, enabling a wide array of communication uses.
